With VMWare or Parallels, or even Boot Camp with a real Windows install, you have yourself the ultimate machine...

Why would anyone want anything else. Macbook or MB Pro are fine machines. I wish I could get one at my work to go with my 24" iMac at home.

I recently switched to a MacBook as well, and got some great Mac advice from people. Check out the comments on this blog post, they include some great tips on Mac software and utilities:
http://pipwerks.com/journal/2008/06/14/just-the-macs-maam/

RE: the desk, one place I've worked at had hydraulic desks that can go up and down with the press of a foot switch. This helps with ergonomics, because you can easily adjust the height of the desk to suit your body size. But wait, that's not all! :P The coolest part is that you can *stand* at your desk (the desk elevates high enough), so you can stretch out your legs/back and not sit all day. It was a pretty neat desk.

I don't know what brand it was, but it was sort of like this one without the drawer stuff (found via google):

http://relaxtheback.com/sit-and-stand-desk-by-relax-the-back-product-6393670-6389774
